It is not only time to say goodbye to Alex, who will soon leave the lab to work as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Stephen Haggarty at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. After 8 years at the ZMBH and DKFZ in Heidelberg, we will soon be moving to the Department of Anatomy II at LMU Munich.
Cindy’s visit this year was shorter than originally planned, but it was still great to have her around and we look forward to her next visit. Many thanks to the Heidelberg University Excellence Strategy for their continuous support!
Trying to beat Alex at solving the riddles failed miserably, but we still had a lot of fun!
It was great to meet staff and donors at the AFI (Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V.) funding award ceremony in Frankfurt. Thank you very much for supporting our work!

Carmen and Jessica went to the JPND symposium in Brussels to represent the PROTEST-70 consortium. Jessica won the 500 € poster prize!
Jessica successfully defended her PhD thesis today! She will stick around a bit longer (yay!) to finish another story.

Another lab trip to the Austrian Alps, where Carmen’s parents offered their cabin for the weekend. This time we were lucky with the weather and we made a nice (but challenging!) hike.
